Foremost, the incredible beauty of the natural world surrounding us provides artistic inspiration. Through art and photography I attempt to portray the feeling attained while exploring wilderness areas, studying wildlife and the meditative solitude of canoeing on remote waterways. Something as simple as a ray of sunlight beaming through the low hanging, morning mist over a calm lake never ceases to capture my soul. Perhaps the splendor of an evening sunset, a wandering lone bison or a colorful array of wildflowers in a mountain meadow will provide inspiration. The recognition of  artistic impressions discovered along the many trails journeyed elevates the creative spirit.

Wizard Island, Crater Lake, Oregon

Crater Lake National Park, Cascade Mountain Range houses the deepest lake in North America, with perhaps the purest water in the world. The Klamath Indian tribe has long held the lake as a sacred site. Wizard Island is said to be the seat of power of The Spirit Chief guardian of the portal through which pass spirits entering and leaving the mortal world.
